If your bank can provide PDF files of bank statements and canceled checks, please send us these digital documents. Please be reminded that you need to ask your banks to provide you with copy of canceled/cleared checks. In the event of tax audit, copy of cleared check is a required proof of expense.
If you manually scan documents, the best format we found to date is TIFF with "CCITT Group 4 compression" which is the format fax transmission is based on. This is black and white document. 300 dpi (dots per inch) resolution would be sufficient.
If you use your smart phone to capture documents, please use one of many "scanning apps" available for smart phones. These apps are optimized for producing digital documents that are easier to read and smaller in sizes. Some examples of such apps are: CamScanner, Genius Scan, Adobe Scan, Clear Scanner and Office Lens.
At any rate, we are happy to receive any documents from you in digital format or by fax rather than on paper. |
